Background Check Information
BACKGROUND CHECK INFORMATION
To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, all volunteers, tutors, and contracted band/color guard instructors are required to submit an application for a criminal history background check each school year. All must reapply with the district on or after July 1st to be considered for volunteer and campus opportunities for the upcoming school year.
Below is some helpful information to guide you through this process:
- If you have children on multiple campuses, you only need to submit one application.
- You do not need one application per campus.
- If you only want to eat lunch with your child, you do not need to submit a background check application. However, you will need to bring your valid driver’s license and check in at the campus front office.
Background checks are required for, but not limited to, the following:
- To be a campus volunteer (i.e. classroom, cafeteria, library, etc.)
- To attend/chaperone a field trip
- To be a member of the PTO
- To be a student tutor
- To be a band volunteer
- To be a contracted band/color guard instructor

Volunteer Application & Criminal History Background Check Request
CLICK HERE TO BEGIN THE BACKGROUND CHECK APPLICATION. Once you have submitted the application, please allow 5-10 business days before contacting the school for verification of clearance. You must contact the campus to obtain your results.
***Please note that Campus Administration and the PPISD Police Department reserve the right to deny access to any individual on school campuses and/or campus events, regardless of the outcome of their background check.***
