Student Teacher & Observer Information

Only requests from colleges, universities, alternative certification programs, and their affiliated program personnel will be accepted for student teaching and classroom observation. Requests from individual students via email or phone calls will not be considered.

Pilot Point ISD welcomes student teachers and observers during the Fall and Spring semesters. To request placement, please follow the guidelines below.
 

Instructions for Program Directors, Supervisors, Coordinators and Students

  1. Submit the Student Teacher/Observer Background Check Request. No placements will be made until your background check is submitted and cleared.
  2. All student teachers and observers must work with their program supervisor to complete and submit the correct form: Student Teacher Placement Application or Student Observer Application. Once completed, forward the form to your program supervisor for review and submission to the district.
    Note: Designate one contact person when completing the application to avoid delays caused by miscommunication.
  3. The program supervisor should submit applications to: vwall@pilotpointisd.org.
  4. Placement availability is limited, so please submit placement requests as soon as possible. Submitting all student teacher requests at once helps us secure placements efficiently.
  5. Do not contact principals or teachers directly about placement requests. All requests must go through the Human Resources Department as outlined above. You can request specific placements, but these are not guaranteed.

Timelines for Student Teaching Placements

Fall 2026

  • Applications for Fall 2024 student teaching will be accepted starting Monday, August 4, 2025. Applications must be received by Monday, September 21, 2026.

Spring 2026

  • Applications for Spring 2026 will be accepted starting Monday, October 6, 2025. Applications must be received by Monday, November 9, 2028.

Fall 2027

  • Applications for Fall 2027 student teaching will be accepted starting Monday, March 15, 2027. Applications must be received by Monday, May 10, 2027.

Timelines for Classroom Observation Placements

Fall Semester

  • Observation requests for Fall must be received by the third Friday of October.

Spring Semester

  • Observation requests for Spring must be received by the third Friday of March.
