Routine Health Screenings
Each student admitted to the district must comply with the screening requirements set by Texas DSHS or submit an affidavit of exemption (Health and Safety Code 36.005(c)).

Children enrolled in prekindergarten, kindergarten, first, third, fifth, and seventh grades must receive these screenings during the school year. Students enrolled who turn four years of age after September 1st of the school year are exempt from screenings until the following September.

The risk assessment includes; identifying students with acanthosis nigricans and further determining these student's body mass index and blood pressure. Children enrolled in first, third, fifth, and seventh grades must receive screening during the school year.

Each student enrolled in the district will be screened for abnormal spinal curvature. Females will be screened two times, once at age 10 (or fall semester of fifth grade) and again at age 12 (or fall semester of seventh grade). Males will be screened one time at age 13 or 14 (or the fall semester of eighth grade).

Los niños matriculados en prekindergarten, kindergarten, primero, tercero, quinto y séptimo grado deben recibir estos exámenes durante el año escolar. Los estudiantes matriculados que cumplen cuatro años de edad después del 1 de septiembre del año escolar están exentos de las proyecciones hasta el siguiente septiembre.

La evaluación de riesgos incluye; identificar a los estudiantes con acantosis nigricans y determinar el índice de masa corporal y la presión arterial de estos estudiantes. Los niños matriculados en los grados primero, tercero, quinto y séptimo deben ser examinados durante el año escolar.

Cada estudiante inscrito en el distrito será examinado para detectar curvatura espinal anormal. Las mujeres serán examinadas dos veces, una a los 10 años (o semestre de otoño de quinto grado) y otra vez a los 12 años (o semestre de otoño de séptimo grado). Los varones serán examinados una vez a los 13 o 14 años (o el semestre de otoño de octavo grado).
