Pilot Point Independent School District Accredited

The Texas Education Agency awards an accreditation status to each public school district and charter school. The accreditation status is based on the academic accountability rating and financial ratings from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas. A district or charter must be accredited by the state to operate as a public school.

Pilot Point ISD Administrative Postings to Meet Required Postings Provisions

  • The Pilot Point Independent School District is committed to making its information and communication technologies accessible to individuals with disabilities by meeting or exceeding the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

  • Education Code, §44.0051(a) requires a school district to prominently display on the district’s website for three years an electronic link to the budget adopted by the board of trustees.

  • Texas Government Code 551.056(c) requires a school district to post the agenda of a board meeting.

  • Texas Education Code 28.009(b-2) requires a district to post their agreement with public institutions of higher education offering dual credit programs annually.

  • (20 U.S.C. 6311(h)(2)(E)) requires a school district to post its annual federal report card on its website.

  • Local Government Code, §140.008(c-d) requires a school district to continuously post on its website the annual financial report of debt obligation until a new annual report is issued. Allows a school district to post a link to the comptroller’s website if the information was provided to the comptroller in lieu of preparing an annual financial report.

  • Texas Education Code 11.185 requires a district to post on their website, after the board's adoption, the Early Childhood Literacy, and Mathematics Plans goals, as well as the annual report of progress towards these goals. In addition, under Texas Education Code 11.186, a district is required to post on their website the Annual Report of Progress Towards Goals Set Under College, Career, and Military Readiness Plans. 

  • Texas Education Code 28.010(b) allows a district to post on their website instead of other methods of notification to parents of each student enrolled in grade 9 or above the Annual Notice of Programs Available to Earn College Credit.

  • Texas Education Code 38.0025(a) requires a school district to provide information relating to bacterial meningitis to parents and students each school year.

  • Texas Government Code, §1201.0245 requires a school district to post specific information pertaining to proposed capital appreciation bonds. This information can be located within the Annual Report of Certain Financial and Local Debt Information.

  • Education Code, §37.0832(e) Requires a school district to post on its website the procedure for reporting bullying.

  • Texas Education Code 26.015 requires a school district to post the email address and dedicated phone number for each campus's behavior coordinator. On Pilot Point ISD campuses, this role is fulfilled by the assistant principals.

  • Education Code, §39.362 as amended by HB 3 (81st Legislature) requires a school district that maintains a website to post the most recent campus report card for each campus in the district, the information in the most recent performance report, the most recent accreditation status and performance rating of the district, and a definition and explanation of each accreditation status and performance rating.

  • Education Code, §28.010(b) Allows a school district to post on its website a notice regarding the availability of college credit programs in the district.

  • Local Government Code, §176.009(a) requires access to statements and questionnaires on the school district’s website.

  • A district that is a service provider seeking to limit liability under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act must post information regarding its designated agent.

  • Texas Government Code 2051.152 requires a school district to post the date and location of the next board election on their website.

  • Texas Government Code 552.234(d) requires a district to post the mailing and email address to which written request for pubic information under the Public Information Act may be sent.

  • Education Code, §28.02121(b) requires a school district to post information about the advantages of the distinguished level of achievement and each endorsement on its website.
    Pilot Point ISD students may earn a distinguished level of achievement under the foundation high school program by successfully completing:

    1. four credits in mathematics, which must includeAlgebra II;
    2. four credits in science, which must include one credit in biology, one credit in anyadvanced science course, and one credit in integrated physics and chemistry or in an additional advanced science course;
    3. the remaining curriculum requirements including: four credits in social studies underSection including one credit in United States history, at least one-half credit in government and at least one-half credit in economics, and one credit in world geography or world history; two credits in the same language in a language other than English; five elective credits; one credit in fine arts; on credit in professional communications, one credit in physical education
    4. the curriculum requirements for at least one endorsement).
       

  • Texas Education Code 28.004(k) requires a school district to post online their policies and procedures to penalize the use of e-cigarettes and tobacco products on school campuses or at school activities.

  • Texas Election Code 87.121 requires a school district to post information regarding early voting rosters.

  • Texas Election Code 85.007 (d)(1) requires a school district to post notice of an election. When applicable, this information will be located on the elections section of our website.

  • Texas Government Code, §2265.001(b) requires a school district to record and report electricity, water, and natural gas consumption.

    Summary of Usage

  • Pilot Point ISD announces its intent to make an application for federal funds appropriated to the State of Texas for public education purposes under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The District requests public comment on the application and its tentative plans for use of the funds.

  • Per 19 Texas Administrative Code § 103.1207, you may appeal an ejection from a District campus by filing a grievance under the following Board Policies: DGBA (LOCAL), FNG (LOCAL), or GF (LOCAL)

  • Per Educ. Code Section 29.168,  a school district shall develop and implement a family engagement plan to assist the district in achieving and maintaining high levels of family involvement and positive family attitudes toward education. 

  • Texas Education Code, 38.101 and 38.103, requires that the fitness levels of all students in grades 3-12 be assessed at least once annually and that school district submit the results to the Texas Education Agency each school year. The TEA identified FITNESSGRAM as the assessment tool to be used by all school districts starting in the 2007-2008 school year. Parents may obtain a copy of their student(s) results at the end of the year by submitting a written request via email to hprill@pilotpointisd.com.

  • Texas Education Code 38.0151 requires school districts to make available a summary on the guidelines for caring for students with food allergies at risk for anaphylaxis and instructions for obtaining access to the complete guidelines document.

  • Texas Education Code 28.004(k) requires a school district to post online the number of school health advisory committee meetings during the preceding year.

  • Policy CQA (LEGAL) requires a district's website to contain a statement listing any curriculum materials in the public domain used for the district's human sexuality instruction and the link to where these materials are located. Materials used in Pilot Point ISD include:

    These materials have gone through the SHAC committee and were available for public preview by parents at the time the decision was made. These materials are not online, and thus no link to the materials are available.

  • Education Code, §38.019(a) Requires a school district to prominently post in English and Spanish the immunizations required for public school, any immunizations or vaccines recommended for public school students, any health clinics that offer the influenza vaccine, and a link to the Department of State Health Services website where a person can learn about the procedures to claim an exemption from the immunization requirements.

  • Texas Education Code 11.1518 and 2051.152 requires a district to post the name, email address, and terms of office for each school board member.

  • 20 U.S.C. 6312 (e)(2)(B) requires a district that receives funds under Title 1 Part A to post on their website information on each assessment required by the State to Comply with 20 U.S.C. 6311, other assessments required by the State, and assessments required district wide.

  • Texas Education Code, §12A.005(a)(1) and §12A.0071(a) require a school district to post notice of proposed and accepted district innovation plans on its website.

  • Local Government Code, §140.008(f)(2) requires a school district to continuously post on its website the contact information for the main office, including the physical address, the mailing address, the main telephone number, and an email address.

  • Texas Education Code 11.159 (b); 19 Texas Admin. Code 61.1(j) requires a school district to post the minutes of the last regular board meeting held before an election of trustees, and after the meeting minutes are approved by the board.

  • SB 1133 79th Legislature requires a school district to post notices of meetings of the school board on the school district’s website, if a website is maintained by, or for, the district and if a school district is located in whole or in part within the corporate boundaries of a municipality with a population of 48,000 or more.
    The Internet posting is in addition to any other posting required. The validity of a notice or agenda is not affected by a failure to comply with a requirement under the new section that is due to a technical problem beyond the control of the school district. This language is in addition to the current requirement to post meeting notices on a bulletin board at a place convenient to the public in the central administrative office of the district.

  • Texas Education Code 37.105 requires a school district to post the district's policy regarding refusing entry or ejecting certain persons from district property, and the process for an appeal of this action by the persons.

  • Education Code, §28.004(k) Requires a school district to post on its website a statement of its physical activity policies for elementary, middle school, and junior high school students and statement of the number of times during the preceding year the health advisory council met, whether the district has adopted and enforces policies to ensure that campuses are complying with vending machine and food service guidelines, whether the district has adopted and enforces policies that penalize the use of tobacco products by students, and a statement providing notice to parents that they can request in writing their child’s physical fitness assessment results at the end of the school year.

  • Under Texas Education Code 28.004(k)(1), a district must have posted on their website mental health resources available at each campus, contact information for the nearest providers of essential public health services under Texas Health and Safety Code chapter 121, and contact information for the nearest local mental health authority.

  • 34 C.F.R 300.504(b) allows a district to post on their website the current copy of the district's procedural safeguards notice regarding special education in addition to providing a copy to parents as required.

  • Education Code, §33.906(a) Requires a school district to post information regarding local programs and services available to assist homeless students on its website.

    1. Pilot Point Independent School District offers career and technical education (vocational) programs in the following career clusters: Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources, Business Management & Administration, Hospitality & Tourism, Human Services, and Information Technology. Admission to these programs is based on high school enrollment, interest and aptitude, and class space availability.
    2. It is the policy of Pilot Point ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap in its vocational programs, services, or activities as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

  • Public Notice to Apply for Federal Funds (English/Spanish)

  • Texas Government Code 2051.152 requires a school district to post the requirements and deadline for filing for the candidacy of a board member on their website.

  • Education Code, §21.204(d) requires a school district to post the employment policies on its website.

  • Per Texas Government Code 1201.0245, a school district is required to post specific information pertaining to proposed capital and appreciation bonds.

  • Education Code, §44.0041(a)(1) requires a school district to post on the district’s website a summary of the proposed budget, which must be concurrently posted with the notice of the budget meeting.

  • Education Code, §39.106 (a-1), (e-1)(2)) Requires a campus intervention team to provide notice of a meeting to solicit input for the development of the targeted improvement plan on the website of the campus. Requires a school district to post the targeted improvement plan a board of trustees will consider prior to a hearing.

  • Texas Tax Code 26.18 requires a school district to post, in the format prescribed by the comptroller, tax rate and budget information.

  • Education Code, §29.916(c) Requires a school district to post on its website the dates that PSAT/NMSQT or any college advanced placement test will be administered, the availability of the exams to homeschooled students, and the procedures to register for them.

  • Education Code, §29.0112(e)(1) requires a school district to post the transition and employment guide developed for students enrolled in special education programs on its website.

  • Education Code, §11.1513(d)(1)(B) allows a school district to post a notice of a vacant position requiring a certificate or license on its website.

  • Texas Education Code 28.004(k) requires a school district to post online their policies to ensure compliance with vending machines and food service guidelines.
