PPISD Accountability Rating

Dear Bearcat Families,

As we begin a new school year, I want to share an important update about how our district and schools are measured through the Texas A–F Accountability System.

It is important to understand that the A–F accountability ratings rely heavily on student performance and growth on the STAAR assessments. While the system includes multiple measures and indicators, STAAR results make up a significant portion of the accountability ratings. These assessments provide important information about student learning, but they represent only one part of the overall picture of a student's educational experience and a school's success. A letter grade cannot fully capture the growth, relationships, opportunities, and day-to-day work happening in our schools.

This year's accountability results for Pilot Point ISD are:

• Pilot Point ISD: 77 — C

• Pilot Point Elementary School: C

• Pilot Point Middle School: C

• Pilot Point High School: B

A C is not a destination—it is a starting point for improvement. These results give us valuable information about student achievement and areas where we need to strengthen our systems, instruction, and support for students. We will use this information to guide our work, make informed decisions, and continue to invest in the practices that have the greatest impact on student learning.

At Pilot Point ISD, our focus is on every student and every classroom. We are continuing to strengthen instruction, use student data to identify needs, provide meaningful support and professional learning for our teachers, and ensure that our systems are aligned to help students succeed. We know that meaningful improvement takes time, consistency, and a shared commitment from our entire Bearcat family.

As you review these accountability results, we encourage you to look beyond a single letter grade. Consider the growth students are making, the progress our schools are achieving, and the many factors that contribute to a successful school experience. Our students are more than a score, and our schools are more than a letter.

We also want you to know that we will not shy away from areas where we need to improve. We will continue to be transparent about our results, ask hard questions, and work together to identify strategies that make a difference for students. Our goal is not simply to improve a rating—it is to improve the educational experience and outcomes for every student in Pilot Point ISD.

There is much to be proud of, and there is important work ahead. We will celebrate our successes, learn from our results, and continue moving forward with urgency and purpose.
