Pilot Point ISD Scores 98/100 in State Financial Accountability Rating

Pilot Point ISD has once again earned the state's top mark for financial accountability, receiving an "A, Superior Achievement" rating under the Texas Education Agency's Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).

The district's score climbed to 98 out of 100 this year, up two points from last year's 96,  earning the district a Superior Achievement rating, the highest rating a Texas school district can earn under the FIRST system.

The FIRST rating measures how effectively a district manages taxpayer dollars, evaluating factors such as budgeting practices, debt management, and overall fiscal transparency. For Pilot Point ISD, the improved score is the result of consistent, disciplined financial practices carried out by staff across the district throughout the year.

"Our FIRST Rating remained an A and increased by 2 points due to the district working hard to use our funds in the best way possible," said Chief Financial Officer Brittany Floyd.

District leaders point to the rating as proof that sound money management and strong academics go hand in hand. Every dollar saved through careful planning is a dollar available for teachers, classrooms, and student programs.

This achievement reflects a district-wide commitment to operating with integrity and planning responsibly for the future.
